Salvo Gold
GONE GOLD posted on 8 JUN 2005 by Sean Drummy
Shrapnel Games has today declared their naval warfare title, Salvo!
Publisher Shrapnel Games and developer Spruegames today announced that Salvo! has gone gold. Giving gamers an excuse to "dress up like Captain Crunch and drink a lot of rum" (Who needs and excuse for that?), Salvo! is expected to ship on July 5, 2005 for around $39.95. Mac gamers rejoice: the Mac OSX operating system version will be available for purchase simultaneously with the Windows release.
Here's what Shrapnel had to say:
Salvo! is a single player experience of naval warfare from the 17th until the 19th centuries. Covering a wide range of engagements and combatants Salvo! does a superb job at capturing the essence of commanding a battle fleet during the Age of Sail, thanks to its Action Marker system for controlling individual ships and its Squadron Control for larger formations. With these systems battles can be fought between a handful of ships, huge fleet clashes, or everything in between and all with the same ease of control. Fighting Sail has never been easier! To go directly to purchase Salvo! head over to Gamesfront, or for a demo and additional information, be sure to check out the official site.
